Features / Kings of Leon tribute act ignites Mareel crowd
NEARLY 400 punters turned out at Mareel and rocked the night away to the sound of a Kings of Leon tribute act on Saturday.
Fronted by Christian Dawson, Kings of Lyon played a set spanning all the multi-million selling Tennessee band’s albums with highlights including Use Somebody and Sex on Fire which ignited the up-for-it weekend crowd.
The crowd was warmed up by local rockers Dirty Lemons who performed a strong set mixing covers and original material.
Alan McLeod of promoters Klub Revolution said he and the band were “delighted” with how the show went. He extended thanks to staff at Mareel and the audience for turning out and making the night such a great success.
McLeod said there were already plans to bring Kings of Lyon back to Shetland later in the year.
Meanwhile Klub Revolution have another of the UK’s top covers acts, the Joy Division tribute band Transmission, lined up to play the Gulberwick Hall on Saturday 29 March.
