Letters / No hope of a peaceful retirement
On Friday night’s Radio Shetland, councillor Nickerson happily informed us that he is looking forward to a long and peaceful retirement. This is from the mouth of the same man that proposed planning permission should be given to the Viking Energy project.
It is with thanks to him and his fellow VE supporting councillors that many of us now have no hope of a ‘peaceful’ retirement. Our retirement will be spent living within the five to seven year VE construction site and subsequent wind farm.
Mr Nickerson also told us that his last act as a trustee is to put forward Viking Energy’s demand at Monday’s Charitable Trust for £6.3 milion because ‘he knows what it’s all about.’
Mr Nickerson would do well to think before he opens his mouth.
