Letters / Nuclear standpoint?
I wonder if Billy Fox has an opinion on the affect on house prices if built next to a nuclear power station?
After the Radio Shetland debate last year I asked Billy Fox: “What would sustain Shetland’s closed grid when oil and gas run out in 30 – 50 years time?”
He rejoined: “What kind of electricity would be imported over the interconnector when the wind didn’t blow”?
I replied: “Probably nuclear generated electricity from a mainland station!”
He then asked: “What would be wrong with a nuclear power station in Shetland?”
I declined to answer such an inane question.
Maybe Billy should be asked if he is still of the same opinion now that he is standing for election and, presumably, would want to be as transparent in his political beliefs as is possible?
