News / Year long ban

A YOUNG Shetland woman lost her driving licence on Wednesday after pleading guilty to drink driving at Lerwick Sheriff Court.

Jodie Leask, of 2 Toabgeo, Virkie was almost twice the legal limit when she was stopped by police in Lerwick’s St Olaf’s Street, in the early hours of 2 February.

The 19 year old was fined £500 and disqualified for one year, though she can reduce that by three months by successfully completing a drink driver rehabilitation course.
