News / Green power cashback day

SHETLAND Renewable Energy Forum is hosting an open day on Saturday (10 December) in Shetland Museum and Archives between 1.30pm and 3.30pm to inform local people on a range of financial incentives available to those who wish to generate their own electricity.

The event will focus on the proposed changes to Feed-In Tariff (FIT) rates currently available to owners of small wind turbines and solar photovoltaic devices.

It will also discuss the opportunities of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) to home owners as well as give information on the recently announced Green Deal, as a way of financing domestic energy efficiency measures.

The forum would like to co-ordinate a representative Shetland-wide response to open public consultations on the Green Deal and Feed-In Tariff rate changes.

For further information contact the forum’s development officer Robin Sampson on 01595 694 986 or email info@shetlandrenewables.com or via the organisation’s website at: www.shetlandrenewables.com
