News / Driver forced off road urged to come forward

POLICE in Shetland are appealing for a driver who was forced off the road by an oncoming vehicle to come forward.

Police said that a member of the public had witnessed the incident on the main A970 heading north at Tingwall on Monday 28 November.

The witness had said a silver car had carried out a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre at the south end of the Tingwall “straights”.

Police said they would urge the driver of the vehicle forced off the road to contact them at Lerwick police station on 01595 692110.
