Auld Haa, Copister, Yell

Auld Haa is a two-bedroom detached house on the south of Yell. The property was a popular self-catering holiday cottage from 2017 until very recently. The property is understood to be have been built circa 1880s and extended later. The View/Day room was added circa 2000s.

The house boasts commanding views of the Loch of Copister and the southern coast of the island, as well as overlooking the uninhabited islands of Orfasay and Samphrey.

Entering the hallway there are wooden wall panels throughout. Laminate flooring has been laid to the inner hall, lounge and kitchen to visually join the spaces. The lounge, or snug, has an ambient feel. This room, as well as the kitchen, has painted, exposed beams. The kitchen, which has been recently modernised, is bright and spacious, accommodating space for a dining table. The bathroom, which has also undergone modernisation, has tiled walls and floor.

The study makes a great space for writing and enjoys the surrounding views of south Yell. The study leads through to the View/Day room, which enjoys uninterrupted views of the forementioned landscape. The room has a valuated ceiling and exposed wooden beams.Upstairs there are 2 double sized bedrooms which have a light and airy feel to them.

Externally, at the back of the house there is a stone outbuilding with felt roof and an enclosed garden to the front.

Additional Information:

Heating installation is oil-fired, central heating and a electric panel radiator in the kitchen. There is a Warmflow combi boiler with a wet radiator system which also provides hot water. Drains are to a septic tank.
