About Us

LEF Fabrication is a well-established engineering and fabrication business, committed to delivering reliable, high-quality workmanship across Shetland. With a strong reputation for customer service and technical capability, we are now seeking a diligent and organised Storesperson to support our operations and enhance efficiency within our busy workshop and stores environment.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination of our workshop stores, ensuring accurate stock control, efficient material handling, and smooth logistics to support ongoing fabrication, welding, and mechanical activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily store operations, including goods receiving, stock control, and material issuance
  • Maintain accurate stock records and documentation using internal systems
  • Coordinate with suppliers to manage deliveries, returns, and order discrepancies
  • Prepare and issue materials and consumables to workshop personnel as required
  • Monitor stock levels, raise purchase requisitions, and assist in inventory forecasting
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the stores and yard areas
  • Assist with logistical coordination for projects, including loading and dispatching goods
  • Support health and safety compliance in material handling and storage
  • Making collections and deliveries as required

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a Stores Person or materials controller role within an engineering or industrial environment
  • Good working knowledge of materials used in fabrication and mechanical works
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Competency in using stock management software and Microsoft Office
  • Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • A proactive, dependable approach and ability to work independently
  • Full, clean driving licence
