Letters / Freedom of Shetland for Ukraine president Zelensky?
Highland Council recently awarded the freedom of the Highlands to President Zelensky of Ukraine.
It would be good for Shetland do the same and award him the freedom of Shetland.
As far as I am aware a similar honour has only been given once previously to former Provost Robert Anderson in 1965 who was awarded Freeman of the Burgh.
We could use this precedent to award this honour to President Zelensky.
It may seem like a small gesture, but it would add to the growing support for him and his country from around the world.
