Letters / Shetlanders know their islands best
Following on from my recent letter Who will benefit from the proposed Co-op supermarkets? The Co-op or the community? (Shetland News; 7 September 2021) am I surprised by the reaction of the Scalloway Community Council?
Not one bit. And it should tell the potential developer that this particular plan could end up being a disaster economically for the investor.
Listen and learn from local people who just happen to be the most hospitable, warm, generous and welcoming folk I have ever met in my long and much-travelled life.
The people of Shetland know the world they inhabit far, far better than outsiders.
