Letters / How does she plan to repair the damage done to the WASPI women?
Beatrice Wishart has declared her sympathies with WASPI [Women Against State Pension Inequality] women like myself and I understand she is also in that age group.
I believe she was working for the Lib Dems at the time they decided, with the Tories, to move the age of retirement for women, sooner than originally agreed and without adequate warning.
As Beatrice’s website says, this left thousands of women in “dire financial circumstances”. What did Beatrice think or say about it at the time?
The UK has one of the lowest state pensions in the developed world. This is an ideological choice that the Lib Dems have consistently supported.
Even if Beatrice has now seen the light on the WASPI issue, how does she plan to repair the damage done as a member of a political party with just five MSPs?
