Letters / A failed project
The article on 19 April on the restoration of the Shetland Amenity Trust boat Maggie Helen, or Loki to many, is spun as a glowing success story.
Restoration work to begin on former fishing boat Maggie Helen
The trust wasted considerable time and money buying the Loki, working on it, and then abandoning the restoration incomplete.
Any measure of ‘success’ is limited to the current achievement of getting a failed project to be completed by others and shunted elsewhere.

Note from the editor: Shetland Amenity Trust confirmed on Monday that the restoration of the vessel and the handover to new owners will not incur any additional cost to the trust.
