Long overdue

It was an absolute pleasure to read such an articulate and well thought-out short discourse on the past, present and future of Shetland by Phillip Andrews, the like of which is long overdue (Reckoning; SN, 18/03/14)

It gets a bit tiresome reading the letters sometimes when a pronouncement by Douglas Young will be followed by a diatribe from the ‘Stephanie Flanders’ of Brae, as sure as night follows day.

Lines of doggerel culled from Wikipedia are no substitute for knowledge.

The only thing wrong with Phillip’s suggestions is that the people who (just possibly) may be able to try to implement any of them, don’t care.

Sadly,

Bill Hall
Torre del Mar
Spain.
