Letters / Don’t be greedy
Scottish Housing Minister Burgess claims the Scottish government may be unable to afford the £10m asked for by SIC as their share of SIC’s proposed deal on its oil boom housing debt. (That debt again; SN, 7/08/13)
Why not, they are already up £2.3m a year from cutting SIC’s housing support grant? Four and a half years and they’ve got their £10m back and then they can keep the £2.3m a year forever!
A four and a half year payback is a good investment return by anyone’s standards. SIC’s offer is generous, so don’t be so greedy, pay up and let’s get on!
