Shetland Community Connections was created in 2018 and has quickly established itself as a change-oriented independent charity working in the areas of Self-Directed Support and local connections. We have funding from the Scottish Government until March 2021 to improve the lives of people in Shetland who are isolated within our community. We are recruiting for a new Lerwick-based Manager.
As our Manager you will be responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of the work of Shetland Community Connections. You will support our existing team of community-based connectors. These connectors support families and individuals to access activities, resources and events in their local area, enabling them to be included in ordinary community life in Shetland. This work is with individuals and families who have a budget allocated by Social Work, as well as others with no budget who need support to achieve a better life.
Other aspects of the job include initial meetings with interested families and individuals, and work to enhance the sustainability of the charity. You will be supported by an experienced and innovative Board.
The post is 35 hours/week, fixed term contract; salary in range £37,024-£38,588 which includes a distant-island payment.
