Letters / Orca follow-up
After Shetland News published the piece of the killer whales (Orca watchers have whale of a time; 22/07/16), I got some useful photo-ID shots from Geoffrey Hay and Jodie Sutherland.
The group which Jodie photographed on the 21 July had been photographed just six days earlier on the 15 July just off St Kilda by passengers on a trip with Kilda Cruises.
It’s clear from the photos and other people’s accounts that more than one group were in Shetland waters these past few days.
The groups were joining up for periods before splitting up again.
The photos I’ve seen so far are all of individuals we know regularly visit Shetland.
Thanks for including my email details FooteAD@gmail.com, it has been a big help.
