Community / Festive feel as Christmas tree lights switched on in Scalloway
THERE was a festive feel in the air in Scalloway on Saturday evening as the lights for the village’s Christmas tree were switched on – complete with carol singing and warm refreshments.
The crowd of onlookers was treated to a calm night with snow dusted on the ground as bairns – and adults alike – got into the Christmas spirit as December approaches.
Meanwhile, Lerwick’s Christmas tree was set in place earlier in the week in preparation for the Christmas parade on 4 December.
