News / No flights
TRAVELLERS in and out of Shetland had a frustrating day on Thursday with thick fog grounding all flights at Sumburgh airport.
A spokesman said that by late afternoon airlines were starting to make alternative travel arrangements for its customers.
Thursday night’s ferry to Aberdeen will leave Lerwick at 7pm and is expected to be busy.
Meanwhile, at the oil airport at Scatsta helicopter flights to offshore installations have been grounded for the last two days due to fog in the North Sea.
However, as Scatsta itself is unaffected by the foggy conditions two planes with oil workers on board have landed during the day.
