News / Belmont action day
THE BELMONT Trust who immaculately restored Shetland’s finest example of a Georgian house on Unst are inviting volunteers to help improve the gardens over a weekend this month.
With help of a small grant from CSV Action Earth the trust intends to plant trees and shrubs, build fences, weed and paint outside seats over the weekend of 16/17 June.
Lunch will be provided for those who attend for a whole day which starts at 9.30am(ish) and ends 4.30pm(ish).
The trust wants the gardens to be used as a public resources, as well as a haven for birds and insects in an otherwise open and treeless landscape.
Anyone interested in helping can contact skeogarth@btinternet.com or 01595859445; or scott.gardie@virgin.net or 01595820281
