Letters / The real life
Just read the terrible news that a number of houses in Lerwick are not going to enjoy the benefits of the district heating scheme for a very short period of time (‘District heating shutdown’, SN 25/2/17).
Take note that they benefit from it and only they. The rest of humanity has to put up with real life, which includes regular power cuts etc.
No doubt they will complain loudly about it, ignoring the fact that they could put a heater on in the same manner that the rest of us do.
When they start moaning about it, pretend you’re deaf and demand to know what, if any, help they are willing to provide you with. I think I know what their answer will be.
Was so glad to read about it, though. It gave me something else to think about while the gout was troubling me.
