News / Charged with having knife
A SIXTY five year old man has been released on bail after appearing at Lerwick Sheriff Court charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and brandishing a knife.
Lawrence Johnstone, of Muckle Flugga, at the Shore Station in Unst, had his case continued without plea when he appeared from custody on Monday afternoon.
The charge related to an incident in the Muckle Flugga car park on Saturday. Johnstone was also charged with possessing a knife without reasonable excuse or lawful authority.
Because the case related to a dispute with Johnstone’s neighbour, procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie asked that a special condition be attached that he refrains from communicating directly with him.
He will appear in court again on 26 November.
