Letters / Congratulations Jan, from Jan
Many congratulations Jan Bevington on her award (‘Jan to receive animal welfare award’, SN 14/10/14). I’m so pleased for her.
On my first visit to Shetland, a few years ago, I was taken out for a meal, and, when we arrived at Hillswick and I saw the sign outside for vegetarian meals, I wondered why I’d been taken there. Jan (from one Jan to another), it was the most memorable meal! Sitting in front of a peat fire (a first) having a wonderful vegetarian meal (a first) and paying whatever we thought was a fair price! Never done that before either.
It was great to see Jan on Simon King’s programme too. I met him at a Bird fair and mentioned that too.
Good luck in all your endeavours Jan.
