News / Three in custody following Brae disturbance
THREE men are in custody in Shetland following what police describes as a “disturbance” at the Brae Hotel late on Monday afternoon.
One man in his 30s remains in the Gilbert Bain Hospital, in Lerwick, with non-life threatening injuries.
Police in the isles said on Tuesday that they were continuing with their enquiries and called on anyone with information to contact them on telephone 101.
Chief inspector Angus MacInnes said: “This disturbance, which involved people local to the area, was dealt with by local officers in a quick and efficient manner and our enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing at this time.”
Several police cars and ambulances were seen rushing to the scene of the incident on Monday afternoon.
An area between the Brae Hotel, outside the Northern Lights bar, and the Brae Garage was cordoned off and guarded by police officers last night.
