News / Stolen van crashed, man arrested
A MAN is in police custody after a car was stolen from Lerwick on Friday morning.
The blue VW Caddy van was reported stolen from Grantfield Garage, on North Road, around 9.40am.
Reports soon followed that the van had been seen heading south at speed.
The van was later reported to have crashed near Bigton.
A man was arrested around lunchtime and is in the cells at Lerwick police station.
Area commander Angus McInnes confirmed the vehicle had been recovered and a man was in custody.
He thanked the public for their help.
