News / Scott to push for better mobile coverage
SHETLAND MSP Tavish Scott is meeting with representatives from Ofcom and the Mobile Operators Association on Tuesday to discuss the poor mobile phone coverage in the isles.
The MSP said he had been approached by constituents and local community councils who are all unhappy with the quality service
“In Shetland we do not have the reliability of service that those on the Scottish mainland have come to expect. Patchy or non-existent signals lead to worry and frustration in every walk of life.
“I shall be urging the operators and regulators to ensure that mobile phones work equally well in Dunrossness and Dundee, Gulberwick and Glasgow, and Walls and West Lothian,” he said.
Operators offer no compensation for the lack of service in Shetland.
