News / Young man remanded in custody
A YOUNG Shetland man was remanded in custody until his next week when he appeared before Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday charged with four offences.
The case against Scott Anderson, of Kirkabister, Bressay, was continued without plea until 23 January.
The 21 year old is alleged to have broken into a residential chalet on 25 December last year stealing various items including electronic equipment.
He is also charged with smashing a window and breaking into the Staney Hill Shop with intend to steal, on 14 January. He is further alleged to have wilfully and recklessly smashed a light sensor, also at the Staney Hill shop on the same date.
Finally, he is alleged to have had in his possession cannabis resin, a Class B drug, at Lerwick police station, also on 14 January.
