Features / Photos: Roddy Woomble at Mareel
IDLEWILD frontman and singer songwriter Roddy Woomble performed a warmly received, career spanning set at Mareel on Saturday night.
Flanked by guitarist Sorren Maclean, fiddler Hannah Fisher and bassist/pianist Andrew Mitchell, the 80-minute set drew on material from Woomble’s recently released album The Deluder and rich solo back catalogue.
The genial frontman also delved into his Idlewild years several times before sending the crowd home happy with a double helping of songs from the band’s 2002 hit album The Remote Part – the enduring singles You Held The World In Your Arms and American English.
