News / Pedestrian in hospital after being knocked down by van
A SEVENTY year old man was rushed to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries on Sunday evening after being knocked down by a van in a car park off Holmsgarth Road in Lerwick.
Police said that a 26 year old man was been arrested and charged with a number of road traffic offences following the incident that took place at 7.05pm.
The man remains in police custody and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
Anybody who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police is asked to contact Lerwick police station on telephone 101.
