News / Food fair backing
SHETLAND Food and Drink, the organisation promoting local produce, has secured corporate sponsorship towards the upcoming Taste of Shetland food festival and beyond.
The fishing and seafood industry makes up the majority of sponsorship support, with both Scottish Sea Farms and Grieg Seafood giving financial backing for the first time.
They join Cooke Aquaculture, Seafood Shetland and Scottish Salmon Shetland, who all return as sponsors of the food fair.
Other major sponsors are NorthLink Ferries, Shetland FM, Morrison Construction and accountancy firm RSM.
Shetland Food and Drink chairwoman Marian Armitage said: “The level of interest in sponsorship is very exciting and demonstrates just how much passion there is for the industry.
“Companies are also recognising the added value Shetland Food and Drink can give its members, and having so much support for all our activities is going to make a big difference.”
The Taste of Shetland food fair will be held at the Clickimin Leisure Complex between 15 and 17 September.
