News / MSPs congratulate McGregor
SNP list MSP Maree Todd and public health minister Aileen Campbell have offered their congratulations to Robbie McGregor after he became the nationalists’ first ever councillor in Shetland.
Following a visit to Shetland on Monday, Todd said: “I’m delighted for Robbie and I would like to congratulate him. Robbie is a dedicated local campaigner who will work hard for his local area and serve his constituents well.
“I look forward to working with him in the years ahead for the people of Shetland South and for communities all over these islands.”
Campbell said: “It was great to meet Robbie and hear first-hand his commitment to Shetland and to doing his best to serve the communities he will get the chance and privilege to represent.
“I look forward to working with him on our shared desire to empower our communities, reduce inequalities and to support economic growth.”
McGregor said he was “very much looking forward to working with MSP colleagues over the next few years. I am confident that together we can represent the interests of Shetlanders both at council level and at a national level.”
