News / Aurora to open Lerwick shop
POPULAR Orkney retailer and jewellery manufacturer Aurora Jewellery has announced plans to open a shop in Lerwick town centre this April.
The shop, at 82 Commercial Street, will be the company’s third. It sells handcrafted jewellery from outlets in Kirkwall and Thurso.
Owner and craftsman Steven Cooper said: “It was the success of our existing shops which encouraged us to consider a base further north, which I believe will add to – rather than compete with – Lerwick’s existing retail offering.
“Aurora pieces are inspired by the environment, wildlife and rich culture heritage of Orkney – all attributes that we have in common with Shetland, and already hold great appeal with our customers from both near and far.”
Alongside Aurora’s jewellery collections there will also be a large and select range of giftware, suitable for all occasions.
It will also offer a full Highland ware service including made-to-measure purchase and hire outfits, with an extensive range of hire items held in stock.
