News / Weekend accidents
POLICE in the isles had to deal with a number of road traffic accidents over the weekend as wintry conditions made driving difficult.
On Saturday evening, a couple from Aith had a lucky escape when their car left the road in icy conditions and landed on its roof in a ditch near Bixter on the B9071.
No one was injured when two cars collided at the junction of Harbour Street with King Harald Street, in Lerwick, on Sunday at around 7.10pm.
Finally, a car left the A970 road near Levenwick on Monday morning just before nine o’clock. The male driver was uninjured.
