Unique opportunity to acquire a multi-award winning, nationally recognised fish and chip café/takeaway business, winner of the UK’s Top Independent Takeaway Fish & Chip Shop award 2015, situated in an excellent, prominent trading location in the middle of Brae.

Trading from modern, purpose-built premises (built 2008) which enjoy fantastic views over Busta Voe, this well-known, popular eatery which focuses on locally caught and sustainable food, 98% of the fish and shellfish being MSC certified, has built up a huge loyal following, popular with both locals and visitors alike.

The well-equipped, owned premises provide full disabled access and include an attractive seating area for 22/24 with access to a further outside deck seating 28, the main serving/kitchen space based around a bespoke, computerised, ‘Florigo’ island fryer unit, food prep area with walk-in chill, dishwashing area, office, stores and toilet facilities. The site includes ample parking.

All the equipment, fixtures and fittings are understood to be owned outright.

The passion of the owners for this business is reflected in the outstanding customer service provided and a policy of continuous proactive development and innovation.

Presently the business employs six full-time members of staff including a Manager and trained chefs, and a number of part time/weekend staff, some of the staff having been with the business since it opened in 2008.

Although trading from purpose-built premises still only just over eleven years old, the owners have adopted a very proactive approach with a policy of continuous improvement and upgrading. Social media, e.g. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, is widely used and a new website (www.frankiesfishandchips.com) was launched in 2018. The ten year anniversary of the business in 2018 was marked by the commissioning of a promotional film, a competition to win free fish and chips for a year, and the introduction of a new loyalty card.

The result of all this hard work has seen the business recognised with a wide variety of awards including being voted the Best UK Independent Takeaway Fish & Chip Shop (2015) following on from various awards in previous years including the Top Independent Takeaway Fish & Chip Shop in Scotland (2014), Carlyn Kearney winning National Young Fish Frier of the Year 2013, and the Fishermen’s Mission Fish & Chip Shop of the Year (2013).
