25 hours per week
Contracted to 31st March 2022 (renewed subject to ongoing funding)
Salary: £30,815 – £33,529 per annum
plus Distant Islands Allowance (Pro rata)
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly self-motivated individual to overall manage the operation of the Shetland Befriending Scheme.
The post holder will be responsible for managing a small team in the delivery of the befriending service for children and young people, adults and older people throughout Shetland. They will be involved in securing future funding to enable sustainability and development of the service to meet the needs of vulnerable people at a local level.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal/communication/management skills, have the ability to motivate a team of staff and have a strong ability to work on their own initiative and with limited supervision. They will have extensive funding and financial management experience and will have the ability to prioritise work load and work effectively under pressure.
The post holder must be able to work flexibly within the hours and be prepared to undertake some evening and weekend work.
