We’re looking for a Personal Assistant for a friendly 14 year old boy living in Unst, who is looking for opportunities to get out and about and engage in the wider community and activities.

Location: Unst

Rate of Pay: £17 per hour

Hours: Flexible hours – happy to discuss how these could work for the right person.

The role involves approximately 6 hours per week, although these hours can be used very flexibly. Support could be provided through a few hours after school, on Saturdays or Sundays, or by banking hours during one week to allow for additional support during the school holidays.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for someone keen to:

• support and encourage this young person to enjoy activities within the community. This could include going for walks, to the beach, playpark, use the leisure facilities and swimming pool.
• encourage this person to explore Shetland and engage in wider participation in the community and activities/events.
• help this person build confidence in social situations.
