Help shape the future of Shetland’s district heating network
Shetland Heat Energy & Power Ltd (SHEAP) is seeking new Non-Executive Directors to join its Board at an important stage in the company’s development.
Owned by Shetland Charitable Trust, SHEAP operates one of Scotland’s longest-established district heating networks, supplying affordable heat to around 1,300 homes, businesses and public services across Lerwick.
Following a recent review of the skills and experience represented on the SHEAP Board, we are particularly keen to hear from individuals with senior finance or commercial experience.
We would also welcome applications from people with experience in:
- Engineering, energy or utilities
- Investment and capital projects
- Governance, risk and regulation
- Infrastructure and asset management
- Public service
- Strategic development and innovation
Previous Board experience is not essential. We are looking for people who can think strategically, exercise sound judgement and bring independent thinking and constructive challenge to the Board.
Non-Executive Directors are expected to attend regular Board meetings and contribute to additional meetings and discussions as required. Appointments are for an initial three-year term and an attendance allowance is payable.
