Freshwater Engineering Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Freshwater Engineering Supervisor to join our existing Freshwater engineering team in Shetland.
ABOUT THE JOB
Our Freshwater region produces up to 12 million smolts annually, supplying to our 42 marine farms around Scotland’s west coast, Orkney and Shetland.
Based at our Girlsta hatchery, the Freshwater Engineering Supervisor will build a strong working knowledge of all freshwater sites to ensure consistent support to our freshwater teams.
Responsible for day-to-day engineering functions, you will lead the engineering team on site and build strong, positive relationships with the wider Freshwater teams whilst driving the highest standards of health and safety management.
You will also manage projects including budgeting, cost control and financial reporting for these areas. Above all, you will demonstrate and promote SSF’s values and behaviours creating a strong positive culture between all Freshwater teams and the wider business.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Will have a time-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, SVQ3 or equivalent in a second engineering discipline, appropriate training in H&S regulations and procedures, excellent people skills gained through managing a team or projects.
Above all you will be focused on delivering Freshwater KPI’s in the short, medium and long term.
The ability to work independently, deliver detailed long term work packages and adapt to changing Freshwater priorities are essential for success in this role.
You will be expected to build strong relationships with internal and external contacts, demonstrate your commitment in developing a strong safety culture and work flexibly and collaboratively between Compliance and Production support.
