Job Title: Engagement and Programming Manager
Overview: We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced learning and programming professional to lead our visitor, engagement and outreach services at Shetland Museum and Archives. This role is central to developing and delivering a dynamic and inclusive programme of events, learning activities and community-based projects that connect people with Shetland’s unique cultural heritage.

The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding access and participation in the museum’s services. Working closely with a small team, you will deliver high-quality, audience-focused services, support key cultural events such as Shetland Wool Week, and develop innovative projects that showcase our collections and stories. You will also lead on lifelong learning programmes, ensuring opportunities for all ages to engage with and learn from our heritage.

This is a busy and rewarding position that would suit a skilled manager with extensive experience in heritage learning and engagement, and a passion for Shetland’s cultural heritage.

Location: Lerwick (with travel throughout Shetland)
Job Type: Permanent Contract, Full-time
Salary: £38,000 inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. (All roles are currently subject to job evaluation and pay review.)
