Grieg Seafood Shetland Ltd is recruiting for Aquaculture Technicians, both experienced and at trainee level.
Based in Shetland and reporting to the Site Manager/Assistant Site Manager the role entails:
Prioritise, plan and carry out the day to day work for your site/s, ensuring it is done to the highest standard. This will include the following tasks (not exhaustive):
- Containment checks
- Liaising closely with the feeding team
- Control feed delivery and feed sample procedures
- Servicing and maintaining equipment
- Net cleaning and/or changing
- Treating/grading fish
- Harvesting fish
- Lice counts and gill health checks
- Sample weighing and biomass control
- Water quality sample collection
- Collecting environmental data

The successful candidate will be physically fit, have a keen interest in fish husbandry and enjoy working outdoors year round. Previous experience within a sea based aquaculture environment and workboat related qualifications is sought after although this is not required for a trainee position as full training will be provided.
