News / Barker remanded
A SHETLAND man with “anger management” problems was remanded in custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday after admitting a string of anti-social incidents the day before.
Sean Barker, whose address was given as no fixed abode, admitted repeatedly slamming a door against a wall, throwing a cup and two clothes racks against a wall and throwing chairs and kitchen units at an address in Sundhamar, Lerwick.
The 26 year old also admitted scattering rubbish on the floor and shouting and swearing at a woman who lived at the property.
Acting procurator fiscal Kathryn Gordon said Barker was “clearly a man with an anger management problem” and argued he should be denied bail because in the past he had shown “a complete disregard for court orders”.
Defence agent Tommy Allan urged bail to be granted so his client could travel to Fife where a family member and friend had been involved in a recent fishing accident in which a man died and two others went missing.
However honorary sheriff Sandy Cluness refused bail, remanding Barker in custody until 2 September until when sentence has been deferred.
