EVER thought of exploring the natural delights of Shetland by touring the isles in a caravan?
Well then, why not explore Shetland’s vast open spaces and empty beaches, its rugged coastline and abundant wildlife with the help of one of Shetland Caravan Hire’s modern and well equipped caravans?
Husband and wife team Bruce and Kaila McCulloch have spent the last few years developing their business idea, which is proving popular with an increasing number of customers.
Kaila says experiencing the freedom of Shetland from the doorstep of your caravan could not be easier.
The company offers a selection of caravans ranging from a 4-berth executive and a 5-berth family caravan to a large size luxury caravan providing you with all the facilities of a first class hotel.
Being a young mum herself Kaila is more than aware that going on holidays with your family can be an expensive, and at times harrowing, undertaking. Hiring a caravan and getting away from it all to a secluded places where the kids have the freedom to roam sounds like fun for the whole family.
“Caravaning is a great way to explore. You are self-sufficient and support the remoter parts of Shetland by spending the night in villages and on the smaller islands. And it fulfils all the different needs families have,” she says.
But Kaila also has her eye on the local market. Increasingly, folk find the idea of spending a long weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Lerwick an attractive way to get the batteries recharged, she says.
“The idea for Shetland Caravan Hire transpired from wanting to offer a good quality holiday option for families visiting Shetland and for local families wanting a break with the kids.
“We take a caravan and our children for a weekend to one of Shetland’s great campsites, and the excitement and enjoyment for all of us equals a holiday away – you return home feeling as though you have truly been on holiday,” Kaila says.
We have used Shetland Caravan Hire several times now and couldn’t ask for better. Bruce and Kaila provide a fantastic service at an affordable price."
