SHETLAND heavy metal band Ten Tonne Dozer has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Metal’ section of this year’s Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA).
The awards include seven categories outside the mainstream of Scottish popular music.
Now in its third year, the awards are being launched on Wednesday at Bar Bloc, in Glasgow, with the main event taking place at the Glasgow Garage, on 1 March.
SAMA founder Richy Muirhead said: “The diversity of the nominees this year are incredible. It’s really warming to see artists from all over areas of Scotland involved, for example Skye, Aberdeen, Ayrshire and further afield.
“This really gives a sense of Scotland to the awards, which is what SAMAs is all about.”
