THE CREW of the Fair Isle ferry Good Shepherd IV had to deal with a rather unusual cargo on Saturday when loading a Morgan 4/4 'classic' car.
The vehicle belongs to Sophie van Poele and Daniel Craanen who are on a 100-day Contemporary Classics Tour through the UK and Ireland celebrating artisans along the route who are continuing tradition into the 21st century.
The couple is visiting Fair Isle to pay a visit to knitwear designer Mati Ventrillon to learn how their jumpers are being made.
Next on their route is the Isle of Harris Distillers, the newly opened luxury accommodation Mingary Castle, in Ardnamurchan, as well as Wallace Bagpipes, in Paisley, before setting over to Northern Ireland.
The couple said: "These are stories about valuing culture and community, while also embracing change. We feel that's more relevant than ever."
The Morgan 4/4, provided by the Morgan Motor Company, is the longest running production vehicle in the world.
