New director for SHEAP

| Written by Shetland News

WENDY Grant has been appointed to the board of Shetland Heat Energy and Power Ltd (SHEAP) as a non-executive director.

The move was approved by trustees of parent organisation Shetland Charitable Trust on Thursday.

SHEAP runs the district heating scheme in Lerwick, which uses heat from the waste to energy plant to provide hot water to properties in the town.

Shetland Charitable Trust investment committee chairman Drew Ratter said: "We are pleased that Wendy has agreed to serve on the SHEAP board.

"She will bring experience, professional knowledge and skills to bear for the benefit of the business."

Current board member Simon Collins is due to stand down within the next few months.

The other board members are chairman James Armitage, executive director Garry Tait, Allan Wishart and Derek Leask.
