Cannabis courier pleads guilty

A THIRTY four year old man from Lerwick pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis when he appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Michael Holmes, of Gilbertson Road, admitted carrying two kilos of cannabis resin when he was searched at the NorthLink Ferry Terminal, at Holmsgarth, on 26 September.

Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie said the class B drugs had a potential street value of £5,600.

Sentencing was adjourned until 20 June for social enquiry reports.
