Search continues for missing woman

| Written by Shetland News

A SPECIALIST search team and dogs arrived in Shetland on Saturday as efforts continue to trace missing woman Lorraine Grains.

The police asked members of the public to avoid the search area in and around Vidlin to allow the dogs to carry out their duties.

On Saturday afternoon officers asked for members of the Laxo community to check their outbuildings.

The 43 year old was reported missing from her home in Laxo on Thursday.

Officers again thanked the local community for their assistance in searching for the woman in the area.

Lorraine is described as white, about five foot two in height and of slim build.

She has long purple hair and is believed to be wearing black leggings or jeans and a long black overcoat.

The Lerwick lifeboat, the coastguard helicopter and local coastguard rescue teams searched for Lorraine on Thursday and Friday.

Anyone with information on Lorraine's whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
