Police recover £13k of heroin

| Written by Shetland News

POLICE have recovered heroin with an approximate street value of nearly £13,000 in Lerwick.

The recovery was made by officers acting on intelligence in Lerwick on Monday morning, with a 36 year old man having been charged in connection with the drugs find.

Inspector Douglas Livitt said: “We’re grateful to those who supplied information which helped us remove these drugs before they [were] sold on to cause any further harm on our streets.

“Our communities have made it plain they do not accept illegal drugs and you can be assured that we act on the information we receive to take action against those who intend to supply them.”
