A PUPIL from Anderson High School has had one of her essays included in a national collective of creative writing.
Rona Learmonth, from Scalloway, is one of a number of English students across Scotland to have work included in the Write Times 2 compilation.
She wrote the essay Stops, which reflects on how you may never know the stories of the other passengers when travelling on public transport, for her Higher English course.
The book has been compiled by the Scottish Qualifications Authority to celebrate the Year of Young People 2018.
A copy will be given to each school and college in Scotland, while an e-book version is available online.
Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon wrote in the book: "Now, more than ever, it is important for young people to be able to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas with confidence.
"It is heartening to see the young writers in Write Times 2 engaging with the issues facing us, and giving their views with such thoughtfulness, intelligence and sensitivity."
