LOCAL police have renewed their appeal for information following a serious two-vehicle road accident on the main A970 between Fladdabister and Quarff, a few days after Christmas.
Three people were taken to hospital as a result of the collision between a Toyota Yaris and a Vauxhall Astra, which happened at about 5pm on 28 December.
At the time police said the accident had been caused by a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre, which forced an oncoming vehicle to take evasive action in icy conditions - resulting in a loss of control.
On Thursday investigating officers said they were now trying to trace the driver of a black SUV-type vehicle which was "believed to be involved with the accident".
Anybody with knowledge as to the identity of the driver is urged to contact Shetland police on telephone 101 or by calling along Lerwick Police Station.
