MIND Your Head's two new support services will be launched next month at the mental health charity's annual fun run.
The event is due to take place in Cunningsburgh on 27 August and pre-registration is open until the end of July.
Mind Your Head's wellness and wellness together programmes will offer first-hand support to the public which it has previously been unable to offer.
The charity secured £300,000 of funding for the next three years from the Lottery fund and the EU-led LEADER programme to run the service, and staff have already been appointed.
The wellness programme will "support individuals aged 18 years and over to improve their mental wellbeing and their day-to-day functioning, as well as developing and/or improving their coping mechanisms" in times of distress.
It will be available for a maximum of three months and it will include one-to-one support and activities such as dog walking, baking, music and day trips.
There will also be 'Grubby Hut' sessions, which encourage male-dominated workplaces to take time to speak about their mental health, as well as directing people who aren't eligible for the service to other agencies.
The wellness together programme will offer help over a period of six to eight weeks for "people who are supporting/caring for someone who is experiencing a change in their mental wellbeing".
Staff who will run the services will be present at the fun run to answer any questions and accept referrals.
